MANATON, DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
Terms and Conditions
-
To reserve the Barn, please complete and sign the attached Booking Form and return it with a cheque or money order for a non-returnable deposit of £50 made payable to ‘H and E Dagnall’. Our acknowledgement of your completed Booking Form and deposit then constitutes the formal agreement between us.
-
The balance of the hire charge due together with the security deposit (see the following paragraph) is payable not less than six weeks prior to the start of your visit. If you have not paid your hire charge fee and deposits by the six week date, we reserve the right to withdraw the reservation. You will remain liable for the balance unless we are able to find a replacement who can take over the period you have booked. For reservations made within six weeks of your arrival date, the full amount and the deposits will be payable at the time of booking.
-
A security deposit in the sum of £50 for each visit will be payable at the same time as the final payment (see below). Any breakages or damage caused by you during your stay will be deducted from this security deposit which shall not limit your liability for any damage caused to our property by you. Otherwise we undertake to return the security deposit to you within two weeks after the end of your visit.
-
In the event of your cancelling your booking between reservation and arrival, we reserve the right to retain all or part of the hire charge. The hire charge (but not the non-refundable deposit) will be refunded only if we are able to find a replacement booking and any necessary expenses will be deducted from the refundable amount.
You are strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel holiday insurance policy which covers cancellation together with cover for you and your personal belongings, etc.
-
The period of your visit shall be deemed to commence at 16:00 on the first day and finish at 10:00 on the last day.
-
The maximum number of occupants during your visit must not exceed the number agreed at the time of your booking.
-
You undertake to use your best endeavours to take good care of the Barn and its contents and to leave it tidy and clean at the end of your visit. We reserve the right to retain from the security deposit any additional cleaning/repair costs if you do not leave the Barn and its contents in a reasonable condition.
-
You also undertake to respect the peace and privacy of the neighbouring properties and otherwise not to go without permission onto any neighbouring fields.
-
Please report immediately any breakdowns or defect in the facilities in the Barn and we undertake to make any necessary replacements as soon as possible.
-
Whilst we shall do our best to ensure your comfort and safety we do not accept liability for:
a. any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public or other services nor in respect of the equipment or apparatus in the Barn beyond our control;
b. any loss or damage or injury as a result of adverse weather, civil unrest or war or other similar matters beyond our control;
c. any loss or damage or inconvenience suffered by you should the Barn be destroyed or otherwise damaged to such an extent that you are prevented from commencing your visit. We shall, in such an event, within seven days notification refund any sums paid by you in respect of the booking fee save for your non-refundable deposit;
d. subject to any statutory requirements we must ask you to maintain responsibility for your belongings (car, baggage, etc.) and would again refer you to clause 4 above. However careful we may be, our concern can never rival that of you the owner for your own belongings.
-
Due to space limitations at the Barn we can welcome one small to medium sized, well behaved, house trained dog, so if this interests you, please enquire. A small charge will be payable.
This agreement shall be governed by English Law.
