SELF-CATERING AT
THE BARN, EASDON COTTAGE
The Barn, with its thick granite walls, provides a comfortable hideaway in the landscape for two to three people (and a well behaved, healthy and housetrained pet, on application!)
Babies and children are welcome but we would point out that the steps up to The Barn could be a little difficult for very young children and the disabled. We can provide a high chair, but not a cot. For the present, wheelchair access is not available.
A short flight of steps leads up through a stable type door into the main open plan accommodation with views over the surrounding countryside. A traditional oil fired Rayburn gives cosiness and warmth when needed and hot water. It provides the main cooking facility for the kitchen/galley, which also has a microwave, fridge, pine table and chairs. A washing machine facility is available, for a small charge, on request at the cottage.
There is a king-size bed, a double sofa bed, colour TV, video and DVD player and a radio with CD/cassette player facility. Books, games, local maps and guides are also provided. A spiral stair leads down to further accommodation where there is a spare single bunk space and a large bathroom. There is an area of garden in which to sit and enjoy the views or for meals outside.
On your arrival you will find a welcome pack of a few simple items - milk, eggs, butter and bread from local and/or organic sources. Please let us know on booking if you do not need these items. Fresh organic vegetables, in season, may be available for purchase at the Cottage. There is a good supply of locally grown and organic food in the area and information on this plus local shopping and eating facilities is available in the Barn.
We provide linen and duvets but not personal towels. Our water supply comes from a nearby spring; a UV water filter is therefore fitted in the kitchen of The Barn.
Please note that The Barn is a no smoking area.

The cost of oil for the Rayburn is included. Electricity will be charged for from 1st October to 30th May.
A £50 damage deposit is also payable with the hire charge. We undertake to return this deposit within fourteen days of your departure unless there has been a problem. Dogs, by arrangement, are charged from £10 a week.
